We hope that you are having a wonderful summer so far!
YRMBA is actively trying to grow our association and improve the support and services that we provide for our members. As such, we have chosen a few areas to focus on and we would love your help. In terms of a time commitment, we feel that it would require about 2-3 hours of your time over the course of a few months. Most of this could be done online, therefore committee members could choose to work together in person or via email etc…
We would like to form subcommittees to work on the following:
1- New Member Package- this would include updating the list of local stores that provide discounts for multiples and tweaking the documents that we have available to us through our association and MBC to make them relevant to our group.
2- New Member Info Sessions- this would include coming up with relevant topics for our new members as well as developing a schedule of session dates, times and locations as well as advertising to our membership.
3- Adult Social Nights- this would include coming up with themes, dates, times and locations as well as advertising to our membership.
4- Clothing and Equipment Sale- this would include helping out the current subcommittee with the organizations and advertising leading up to and during this event.
If you are interested in joining one of these subcommittees please send an email to Nancy Lozada at email@example.com listing your full name and what you are interested in working on.
Thank-you so much for your continued support of YRMBA!!
On June 14th, my family attended the YRMBA Annual Summer Picnic and Lionel’s Farm. Jordan and Stella are two this time around, and I knew they would be right into it. In fact, even my older son Theo, who is almost 9 said he had a great time!
The best part about Lionel’s Farm is the built in activities. The petting zoo is great, with lots of different animals to see (and hear!). Many that I wouldn’t expect to see…the beautiful peacocks for example. And the indoor play area is really neat. Not neat in the sense of clean, as you will leave with more sawdust and hay than you came with, but that is half the fun right?
Many of our members and their families enjoyed the free pony rides and a lot of photos were taken! The staff are really good at stopping at just the right moment to click the perfect picture! The horse drawn wagon was also a hit, just the right amount of time to see the surrounding farm and lots of very handsome horses and ponies, but not long enough that the kids are trying to escape…
My favourite part of course is getting to hang out with the other families in our group. Many of the kids have seen each other enough that they recognize each other, and it is really fun to watch them play together. There are enough moments for adult conversation to satisfy me also… A near perfect morning spent with my family and friends.
It’s time for our annual picnic!
Back by popular demand, we’ll be heading to Lionel’s Farm in Stouffville on Saturday June 14th.
Come join us for wagon rides, pony rides, treats for the kiddies and treats for the animals too! Please see our ‘Events For Members’ section for all of the details!
See you then!
At YRMBA we value your feedback. We’ve put together a short 10 question survey regarding your membership with us. Completing this survey will help us make YRMBA the best it can be and cater to your specific needs. Please see your email inbox or go to our Facebook page for the link to the survey.
